What 4 year old loses a tooth?

My sweet little girl started to complain last weekend that her tooth hurt. I told her there is no way it could hurt because she had just been to the dentist a couple months ago and her teeth were perfect. Then late that Sunday night I asked her again how her tooth felt and that's when I saw it wiggle! I seriously screamed because what 4 year old loses a tooth? Apparently if your baby's teeth come in early they can fall out early too, but who wants that to happen? Time is already going by too fast, and now she has to lose her teeth early?! Just another sign that my baby isn't a baby anymore! Here she is with her loose tooth.
She had been wiggling it all week, and was a combination of excited and a little scared. She was so cute about it though because last night when my husband and I were trying to convince her we could pull it out before she went to bed so the tooth fairy could come she said all exciting "I can't wait to hold my tooth!" But that reaction soon changed when my husband gave it one good pull, and so we decided to let it be for the night.
Then today after she ate a snack and was going outside to play she ran back in the house and said "Mommy my tooth is gone!! I was going to show my friends my loose tooth and it was gone!!" So apparently she must have eaten her tooth or it fell out without anyone noticing? She was very excited!
So tonight we are looking forward to the tooth fairy coming to our house!

Backyard Swing Set Addition

Last spring we put a swing set in our backyard and it really transformed our yard from a barely used space to a place that we use all the time now. Soon after our little guy was born Josh had to go on a business trip. I was cooped up in the house with a newborn and 4 yr old pretty much the whole time he was gone, and so after that I decided we HAD to do something to our backyard to make it more kid friendly. The previous owners of our house installed this lovely dog run (sorry this is the only picture that exists of it)
It was really wasted space in our yard, so we decided to put in a swing set and rip this thing out!
She loved to help, and get all muddy and go exploring for bugs.
This was her worm friend for the day she said. She was so excited!
And here is the finished product! It really makes our side yard seem SO much bigger. We still have some work to do on it that has lagged for a while, and my husband insists on making the old dog house a play house for the kids. I think that would be so gross! So for now it just sits there.
And now a few months later and our little baby is big enough to enjoy it too. Our winter has been so mild here that we have been able to get outside and use it all the time!

My Favorite Part of the Day

My favorite part of the day is getting hugs by my two little ones. Seriously they light up my life. My little 10 month old started giving hugs and saying "Mama" a few weeks ago, and it is really the best feeling ever. My daughter has ALWAYS been so cuddly and loving and gives me 100 hugs a day. So not matter what type of day I've had, it can't ever be too bad when I have this to look forward to!
I made my husband take this picture during one of their impromptu hugs because it seriously makes me that happy. And yes I am totally in my pj's and my hair is up and all, but I don't even care! Whenever I'm home I love sitting around in my pj's and being comfy!

BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

This is by far one of the easiest recipes you'll ever make. It's almost hard for me to call it a recipe because there's not much to it. Here it is:

BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
6 chicken breasts
1 jar of BBQ sauce (16 oz)
Rolls or Buns
7 hrs or more in the slow cooker on low

When you stir it around all the meat it becomes shredded, like these pictures. It is so simple even I can do it, and if you know me at all you know I mostly do not cook. It's not my fault my husband loves to cook and deprives me from cooking :)!

We had some friends over yesterday for lunch and made this, and it really worked perfect. All I had to do was put the bbq chicken on the bread, and then I got to spend the rest of the time enjoying the company rather than cooking!

Dining Room Makeover

Since buying our house I have slowly been trying to decorate a few rooms here and there. The first and most important rooms were our kids bedrooms so they would have a fun and playful space to call their own. Next we decided to tackle our boring dining room. Once our little guy was born it became more necessary to have play spaces upstairs and downstairs, plus their rooms were overflowing with toys. This is when we decided to turn our dining room into a playroom/office. How often do you really use a dining room anyways? We actually probably got more use out of it than most people by having our neighbors over for dinner, but really it was unnecessary since our kitchen has a large eating area.

Here is our dining room before. Really no style and quite plain.

And here is our new playroom/office.

We love the transformation, and get MUCH more use out of the space. I should let you know I am kind of obsessed with Pottery Barn, so unfortunately it wasn't cheap. Pretty much everything in the room is from Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids, from the light fixture to the rug. I think they will hold up more than any cheaper option though, or at least that's what I'm going to keep telling myself. This is also a visible space downstairs so I didn't want the playroom to just look like a junk room. Ideally I would have liked to add curtains, but the thought of little kids hanging off of them didn't go over too well in my mind so I decided to skip that for the meantime. Now I just need to redo every other room in the house to match this new decor!

My Life as I Know It

My days are filled with cries, screams, smiles and lots and lots of kisses. I am a mommy to two of the most wonderful little munchkins anyone could ask for. They are 4 and almost 1 and they fill my heart with such utter joy and happiness. I am also married to a wonderful man who adores our kids just as much as I do. We live in a cute little suburban town that has really become our home. Of course life isn't always perfect, but I think we are truly blessed!
